13 decorative plates with hummingbird design in fine earthenware by Mouzin Lecat, 19th century.

A set of 13 antique fine earthenware plates featuring a magnificent floral design and a hummingbird in flight on a cream background. These plates are part of an exceptional service that was produced in very few copies in the third quarter of the 19th century. The decoration is entirely hand-painted in delicate colours highlighted with gold. The work of several painters is recognisable. Each plate is unique. Condition: good, no chips or cracks. Slight alterations to the cream colour due to age (see photos). Not surprising for plates that are around 150 years old. A rare set to add to a collection of antique plates.
