1959 Mid-Century Modern Swedish "Still Life With Lamp" Vintage Oil Painting, Framed

Still life with lamp. Size: 61 X 72.5 cm (including frame) Oil on canvas. A beautifully textured and very expressive still life composition, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1959. This lively composition depicts a table setting featuring an array of objects that includes a plate of fish and a lit lamp, set against a well-coloured backdrop of yellow and green blocks. Rich and striking colours have been applied to the canvas, and the painting is heavily textured with areas of creamy impasto – where the paint has been applied thickly such that it stands proud from the surface, adding a beautiful raw textural quality to the work. This oil on canvas is housed in a very well-suited light wood frame with an inner gilt window. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and there are some knocks to the frame corners as shown, but this is not visible from the front.
