Description
With its brown, gray and white marble top and its long and thin legs, this pretty bedside found at Emmaus immediately caught my eye despite the color of the wood which was then very dark, covered that it was a hundred years ago (if I believe my slight research) with stacking layers of wax and dust. It took me a long time to clean it, decimate it, sand it, and all this without chemistry, by hand with sandpaper, spatula and a lot of elbow grease. But I was happy to have led this struggle, because under this layer appeared a beautiful piece of furniture, which almost no longer needed to be restyled, it was so beautiful like that! My very first idea was to repaint it completely, or almost, in black, but that was before, before seeing it naturally :) It will therefore end up natural, just a light layer of colorless antique wax and a little paint (A +, less than 2g / l of VOC) light gray satin on the drawer and door buttons, on the low "platform" as well as in the drawer. It is an old piece of furniture, so it keeps marks of its age: scratches and traces on the wood, the marble plate is split, it seems to be just on the surface but without certainty, in any case it is not visible (see photo) and it does not move. The bottom platform is, under the paint, a little split and deformed (wood of lower quality in this place perhaps?). The interior also features a plate in white grey marble( or other material). It is 84 cm high, and 37 cm by 37 cm side (at the level of the high "platform"). Do not hesitate to ask me for a delivery quote, depending on the destination, it happens that I can deliver myself.
