Small carafe, glass/crystal, antique ruby glass, engraved, 19th-20th century.

Beautiful small antique glass/crystal carafe with some small bubbles, tinted ruby red, from the late 19th/early 20th century, 1890-1900. The base of the body is decorated with two finely engraved geometric friezes forming an interwoven repetitive pattern. The ruby glass body contrasts with a colourless foot, as well as the stopper, which is not original and more modern. In overall good condition with some superficial scratches from use. There is slight wear at the neck due to the friction of the stopper over time, wear that is more typical of crystal. Notably, there is a vein in the glass on the upper part of the body, a manufacturing defect.
