This oak modular bookcase was designed by Hans Wegner and produced by Ry Møbler in Denmark in the 1960s. Since 1951, Ry Møbler was one of five manufacturers that Ejvind Kold Kristensen affiliated in Salesco A/S - company made to give Wegner independence in his designs without worrying about exhibitions, production, and export networks. The RY series furniture is mostly wall units and modular bookcases in teak and oak, combining function with Wegner's attention to high end carpentry. Overall dimensions are H: 180 / W: 100 / D: 49 cm. The bookcase consists of two independent sections that can be used together as a single unit or separated according to the needs of the interior. Crafted from oak, the bookcase showcases a warm, light golden natural tone and beautifully visible grain. The upper section is open and has three shelves, including two adjustable ones, making it ideal for books, ceramics, or decorative objects. The lower section is enclosed with double doors and also offers two adjustable shelves, providing practical concealed storage. The bookcase stands on two solid oak boards. Additional dimensions: The upper section is H: 109 / W: 90 / D: 33 cm, The lower section is H: 71 / W: 90 / D: 49 cm. The bookcase is in great vintage condition. It has been treated with professional compounds, and there are absolutely minor signs of age consistent with use. It bears the original Ry Møbler label on the back, confirming its authenticity and origin.
