This large arc floor lamp was created by Harvey Guzzini, a famous Italian designer, in the 1960s. It has a cubic base in pink marble called "breccia oniciata", a marble quarried in Italy, in the province of Brescia in the Lombardy region . The minimalist design of this floor lamp is due to its arc shape made, here, in brass. This brass arm retracts to adjust the length and height of the arc using small dials. The globe is made of acrylic and also has a gold-colored pressed aluminum surround. History: this floor lamp is a rare lamp, but it is even more rare in this brass version since it is generally found in a chrome version. Indeed, this "golden line" edition saw its production stopped in 1974. On this lamp, the brass has been patinated over time, which gives it very beautiful patterns which testify to its age and make all its value (but it can also be cleaned if you want a more golden and shiny version). The floor lamp has two light sources, one inside the globe, the other outside which can be controlled as desired using the double switch. It therefore requires two types of bulbs: one e27 of 75 watt for the exterior area and two e14 bulbs for the interior of the globe of 40 watt maximum (to avoid overheating). Finally, this famous lamp appeared in several films including “an elephant is very deceiving”, “bloodline” but also “will hunting”. Condition: the lamp is in very good condition, the arc adjustment system works, the marble has no chips, the lighting system works. A very slight crack has been consolidated at the level of the globe (see photos), there is no break.
