Anglo-Indian Solid Teak Chest circa 1880

Important chest, anglo-indian in solid teak circa 1880. Opening by its lid by a handle in gilded brass, called boat, recessed. Locking system by means of two double-hook locks with its key which works (only one of the two is functional, ) but still allows the closing of the chest. The interior offers a large storage space as well as a niche on each side, as well as a small drawer which closes with a key (no key.)  the lid is decorated with a storage compartment also called a mail tray. Each of its faces is made of a single board in solid teak, benefiting from a dovetail assembly. The sides are equipped with bronze handles which make it easier to transport.
