1930s Bauhaus Nickel and Opaline Glass Table Lamp, Czechoslovakia

Original Bauhaus table lamp produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. This compact pre-war modernist light features a curved nickel-plated metal structure supporting a spherical white opaline glass shade. An adjustable joint beneath the shade allows the light to be repositioned and adds a characteristic mechanical detail to the otherwise clean geometric composition. The combination of polished nickel, opaline glass and functional construction is strongly associated with Czechoslovak Bauhaus and Functionalist lighting of the interwar period. Its compact proportions make the piece particularly suitable as a bedside lamp, desk light, accent lamp or decorative lighting object. The nickel-plated metal has been carefully repolished and the electrical wiring renewed. Minor signs of use and age remain, consistent with the lamp’s vintage character.
