Antique Saint-Clément earthenware plate – underglaze painted floral decoration – stylized basket with lyre handles – blue stamp with foliage – circa 1900. Country elegance & workshop charm: a decoration that smells of the beginning of the century with two large stylized flowers, placed in a basket with lyre handles, in bold and naive colors (reds, greens, yellows…), printed underglaze on white earthenware. From the Saint-Clément factory, this plate bears an old stamp in blue with foliage framing the word "St Clément", typical of productions around 1890–1920. On some variants, this stamp is accompanied by the word "Gold Medal", a reference to a distinction obtained at the Universal Exhibition – here, it is in its sober version, just as authentic. Diameter 22 cm Very good old condition - no chips, no cracks - small marks of use or cooking possible, typical of period artisanal earthenware, in particular a white enamel defect on the edge (see photos). Traces of pernettes on the back To hang as a wall mixed with other country decors, perfect for a country house or a bohemian chic interior. I also have in my shop a similar piece in the same shade but decorated with a rooster (K&G in collaboration with St Clément circa 1920).
