Terracotta sandstone. Status: vintage items may have traces of use, see details on photos. A versatile container widely used in the south and south-west of france, as well as in spain, it is substantially the equivalent of the current basin. Sandstone is used for food preparation (making jams, preserves, pâtés, sausage meat, etc.), to collect blood when killing the pig. Its use has extended to dishes. Sandstone is not a dish for cooking food, but only preparing it. It is not made to withstand cooking temperatures.
