This minimalist and elegant daphine table lamp was designed by tommaso cimini for the italian manufacturer lumina during the 1980s. The prototype of the lamp was created in 1975 for the design fair in milan as the simplest table lamp. The lamp comes from the designer's philosophy: "more of light, less the lamp", which is still the essence of all lumina products. Daphine is a timeless combination of function and form. An articulated metal arm with a 360-degree adjustable shade is mounted on the transformer. It has a two-stage light switch. Over the years, it has been in the collections of the most important design museums in the world, including the brooklyn museum and the judd foundation in new york, the musée des arts décoratifs in paris, the neue sammlung in munich and the milan triennial. Tommaso cimini founded lumina italia in 1980. From the beginning of its existence to this day, the company has consistently stuck to its original goal of providing the highest quality lighting with low energy consumption. Everything released under the lumina name is produced with pride and unwavering passion. After tommaso's tragic death, his son ettore took over as director and continues his father's work with great success. The lamp is in original vintage condition. It has minor traces of age. G6 12v 50w bulb required.
