A vintage toilet basin made of Hamage earthenware, with a Jardinière decor, which will bring all the charm of yesteryear interiors to a bathroom or bedroom. The bottom is adorned with a generous bouquet of dahlias, roses, and wildflowers, surrounded by finely engraved foliage. On the wing, three large floral bouquets alternate with geometric diamond friezes, and the floral decor continues on the outside of the basin. The reverse bears the name of the decor, "Jardinière, " and the mark "Hamage Nord" in an elegant rocaille cartouche, printed in the same red. Once associated with a pitcher on the dressing table, this basin can today serve as a fruit bowl, a pot cover for a flower arrangement, or simply as a decorative piece on a dresser or sideboard. The Hamage earthenware factory, located in Wandignies-Hamage in the North, was part of the large ceramic hub that developed around Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and Orchies. In 1923, it partnered with the Orchies earthenware factory to form the Moulin des Loups & Hamage, whose production saw significant growth until the 1970s. Overall good condition with crazing throughout the glaze, more pronounced on the reverse, and slight signs of use. Dimensions: D 36 X H 10.5 cm.
