Poul Kjaerholm Early Pair of PK31 Chairs for E. Kold Christensen 1958

Early edition pair of pk31 lounge chairs, designed by poul kjaerholm in 1958 for e. Kold christensen. Both are marked with the original ekc logo impressed on the lower beam of the frame. The chairs have a heavy matt chrome plated steel frame and still the original high quality black leather upholstery. Only the narrow sides (4cm) of the back cushions have new leather, see also the next to last picture. The seat, back and side panels were made of wooden frames covered with leather. The pk31 model is characteristic of kjaerholm's modest and minimalist yet elegant stylen and his ability to work with refined materials. Fantastic set! Hard to find in its original leather. The chairs are in good condition. The frames are very good, only little surface rust. The leather is still good, one chair has a bit more patina than the other one, as visible in the pictures. Both back cushions have a little reinforcement at the bottom side, which is not visible. Futhermore very good.
