The Italian motif, still very popular, was created in 1816 by Josiah Spode II. It became popular in England because it evoked the adventures of the Grand Tours, in which many upper-class people participated at that time. With its timeless blue and white design depicting Italian scenes and bordered by a Japanese-style Imari border, it's no wonder this motif has stood the test of time and is as popular today as it was 200 years ago! These lovely pasta bowls and large salad bowl don't date from that magical era, but are more recent, having been made in the early 2000s. However, they have the advantage of being microwave and dishwasher safe, meaning they can be used every day. All pieces are in good vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or fissures. The pasta bowls are approximately 3.5 cm high and 22 cm in diameter. The serving platter is just over 4 cm high and 29.5 cm in diameter. A charming addition to your home and perfect for everyday use. This set would also make an attractive and practical gift.
