This 18th-century oak chapel cabinet was located in an old bourgeois house. It had been repurposed into an original little storage unit and trinket tray in the entrance hall, good idea! It was black from the many layers of wax applied over the years... So we decided to magnify it and for that we sandblasted it and treated it entirely against wood-boring insects. The many photos show the woodworking in the 18th century when machines did not exist. You can see the marks left by the tools. The sandblasting revealed the small restorations that had been necessary to cross time and reach us today. The differences in wood tones give it an additional charm. All the fittings were forged by hand. This little piece of furniture is unique and atypical and you will not find it in anyone else's house! Dimensions: 87 X 55.5 X h 95 cm, height of the lower chest 26 cm.
