Vintage xl standing coat rack

Iconic modernist xl coat rack, called 'cle de sol', black metal frame with wooden colored balls, 1950s design, france. Top piece, a true design icon, this coat rack has a beautiful age and use patina, the bulbs and the frame may have been repainted at some point because the condition is excellent. The american chemist llinus carl pauling shaped dna in 1951 as a string of spheres and rods, roger feraud was inspired and fascinated by this fact. He therefore designed a series of coat racks with a black, solid steel frame, decorated with his typical painted wooden balls.
