This lovely stoneware bowl will find many uses: for serving appetizers, as a unique trinket dish, or even for holding jewelry or makeup accessories in the bathroom. The shape is elegant and well-designed, with a fairly wide rim for a comfortable grip. The glazing in autumnal tones—brown, dark beige with a hint of khaki—is very well done, and the decoration, evoking leaves and flowers, harmonizes perfectly with the colors. It's a truly beautiful piece of craftsmanship in both throwing and glazing; I'm even surprised it's unsigned. It reminds me of the work of Tim Morris, a South African ceramicist who studied in Great Britain and worked from the 1960s onward. It also brings to mind the work of JS Stuart in Exeter. That's why I suspect this ceramic piece is of British origin, perhaps dating from the 1970s. The bowl is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a single nick. It measures 20 cm in diameter at its widest point and 7.5 cm in height.
