Moustiers Lallier set: soup tureen and matching 40cm dish

Description. Selling a magnificent set of authentic faience service from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, originating from the prestigious Manufacture Lallier. This indivisible lot features the famous "fantastic birds" decoration (polychrome birds), entirely hand-painted. Details of the set: • Large Serving Platter: Oval scalloped shape, impressive length of 40 cm. A rare piece in this size, ideal for large gatherings. • Large Soup Tureen / Vegetable Dish: Opening of 25 cm in diameter. Elegant model on console feet. The lid is adorned with a superb finial (grip knob) in the shape of vegetables (carrot and artichoke), typical of Provençal tradition. Authenticity and Condition: • Signed with the painter's monogram on the reverse (see photos). • Traditional artisanal manufacturing: presence of marks from the potter on the back and a beautiful ochre/pink clay visible on a small usage chip on the edge of the lid (a guarantee of quality and origin). • The glaze shows an old natural patina that attests to its authenticity. No major cracks.
