XL Vintage 1970s Seguso Vetri d’Arte Scavo Murano Glass Table Lamp

Please be aware that customs fees may be applicable if you buy from outside of the UK.] A very wide and very substantial table lamp of thick-walled mouthblown glass, in a roughly mushroom shape, decorated ‘a scavo’ – a technique of applying salts and ash to the glass during firing to replicate the iridescence and calcium deposits found on ancient excavated glass. It is capped with a wide turned and polished hardwood disc. It was made in the late 1970s by murano glassworks, seguso vetri d’arte, and was probably designed by vittorio rigattieri, svda’s head designer at this time. The lamp has been rewired with a brand new british-made b22 bayonet cap switched lamp-holder, and a good length of premium italian 3-core cable with a decorative vintage-style mottled grey woven cotton braid.
