Very beautiful work made in oil on wood panel (oak). The work does not seem signed but there is an annotation on the back of the panel attributing it to théodore rousseau (we also find what may look like an inventory number...?, see photos). The work of expertise therefore remains to be carried out, this painting is sold as "school of". Also note that this painting is sold for restoration: as you can see, the work is very dark and the varnish will have to be cleaned and / or redone. The work is sold with its period frame (original gilding, some minimal wear). Panel dimension: 18.2 / 23.7 cm, with frame: 39 / 45 cm. Biography: Étienne pierre théodore rousseau, known as théodore rousseau, was born on april 15, 1812 in paris and died on december 22, 1867 in barbizon, was a french painter and engraver. He is considered to be the co-founder of the barbizon school. He was an attentive observer of nature at all times of the year.
