Old travel trunk

Once is not custom, I offer you an object completely in its juice, barely dusted. So you can decide if you use this large trunk as it is (for a coffee decoration, vintage store, or amusement park!), or if you embark on a summary cleaning to possibly store some things, or if you are able to restore it to offer it a new and long life! This large travel trunk is the testimony of a bygone past where travel took time, where you loaded your big trunk into a train or boat, where you sometimes took part of your life on a journey to a new future. I imagine it dates from the beginning of the 20th century maybe before. As I said above, it is totally in its juice and contains many important traces of time and use that I will try to list: structurally, it is still solid, the wooden reinforcements are intact. It is still noted that the outer layer of the plywood is curled, damaged in one place. The middle latch is functional, but not the other 2 (lack of mechanism). The canvas that covers the trunk is dirty, stained (indelible orange paint in particular), curled, torn in places. The metal parts are pitted with corrosion, superficial but important on the hinges at the rear. The leather of the handles is still strong, but stiff (to moisturize, wax...) and damaged at the contacts with the metal fasteners. Inside, the fabric upholstery is present, but largely stained. And obviously when you open it, there is a smell of old books, dust. Some interesting details all the same: presence of partial labels, the leather of the handles has nice patterns. It measures 100 cm in length, 60 cm in width, 35 cm in depth and weighs about 10 kg.
