This magnificent footed bowl is made of moulded Baccarat crystal. This guéridon or centrepiece is adorned with a sumptuous dolphin-shaped base, acid-etched, a curious fish-chimera, enhanced by a large moulded crystal bowl. The upper bowl is moulded with diamond points for the famous diamond gem service. This bowl consists of several parts: the dolphin base, the bowl, and the gilded bronze elements forming the ring and the handle. Originating from the Baccarat factory, it is an exceptional centrepiece. The Diamant Pierreries model is in the Baccarat catalogue from 1907. Each crystal element is signed "Baccarat déposé" in moulded block letters. In very good overall condition, this footed bowl measures 40 cm in height and 24.5 cm in diameter. I note signs of use and small chips on the edge of the base. The bronze mount raises questions for me with this central handle made up of three elements. They are of fine quality and fit very well, but I have doubts about their creation with the crystal bowl.
