This legendary 1960s "Giraffe" floor lamp, designed by Czech lighting pioneer Josef Hůrka and produced by the Czechoslovakian manufacturer Napako, is an iconic piece of mid-20th-century Central European lighting design. Known locally as the Žirafa/Zirafa/Giraffe lamp, the design is distinguished by its slender, sculptural body, its angled arm reminiscent of a giraffe's posture, and its luxurious chrome finish—combining elegant minimalism with a playful, biomorphic character. The lamp has been enhanced with a new, handcrafted parchment shade, entirely handmade using traditional techniques, complementing the reflective chrome with a warm, textured translucency. The original metal structure remains in good vintage condition, retaining an authentic patina and signs of use consistent with its age. A rare, sculptural and historically significant light fixture, ideal for design collectors, galleries, refined interiors, boutique hotels and distinguished living spaces.
