Signed under number 21871 This stoneware dish with an abstract pattern was designed by jørgen mogensen for royal copenhagen. As is typical of mogenson, this is a heavy and sturdy stoneware. A fine example of the mid-century modern movement. In very good vintage condition, no chips or cracks. Some normal cracking in the thick "sung" glazing. The name of the glazing refers to the "sung dynasty" in China (960-1279). Signed on the base 'jm' and the royal copenhagen denmark logo with the three waves for royal copenhagen and the model number.
