Large and superb slip planter decorated with pink flowers in shades of green and blue from the art nouveau period (produced at the end of the 19th century) by the de bruyn pottery in fives-lille. It is signed intaglio with the famous marine anchor where the d and b of de bruyn intertwine. This piece is numbered 1 106 n° 1 and features the painter's color marks. It features a charming floral relief decoration characteristic of art nouveau slip. These colors are magnificent. The piece is very well crafted, with flowers adorned with yellow and brown pistils, an elegant frieze forming small clovers, and charming leafy stems. A true piece of art in crackled and enameled porcelain from the art nouveau period! The whole is in very good condition (no defects) dimensions: - width 32.0 cm - depth 7.7 cm - height 17.2 cm opening 25.5 cm by 15.0 cm approximately. After his death in 1805, his son martin de bruyn ran the earthenware factory which then passed it on to his son denis de bruyn. From 1887 onwards, the first "decorated slips" appeared at the de bruyn earthenware factory in fives-lille: planters, pitchers, tobacco jars, but also planters and vases, mantelpieces, umbrella stands. And in 1889, de bruyn was awarded a medal at the paris world's fair. In 1917, a fire ravaged the factory, severely disrupting production.
