We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent extra-large George III writing desk from around 1780-1800, featuring stamped locks marked George Rex from the period. This impressive piece is enormous in width and depth, hand-carved from solid mahogany. Brass elements adorn the sides of the drawers. This desk can comfortably accommodate 12 people. It separates into three parts for easy transport, with removable legs. The top is made of antique Rexene but is in perfect working condition. It is possible to add handcrafted leather in the desired colour, at cost price. The locks bear several stamps, including 'GR' under a crown symbolising George Rex, also stamped Barrons Patent, a renowned supplier of Gillows of Lancaster. The condition has been cleaned, waxed, and polished, showing a natural patina due to age with normal signs of use.
