I offer this oil on canvas in perfect condition signed gilbert deguingand (1891-1918). Composed of 2 pears, 2 apples, an orange, a bunch of grapes and 2 bananas, this rare work loaded with symbols was produced by a very promising artist who died at 27 in the war. The apple evokes birth and fertility, it is the image of femininity and voluptuousness. Consumed since ancient times, the apple is like all fruits, a living product, generator of joy and pleasure. It is a sign of hospitality and generosity of nature. The pear represents femininity, but by its shape, with greater nobility. Since 1980, it has also been the symbol of time. Orange symbolizes autumn and its flamboyance, its color is close to flames. This fruit represents the essential needs (mobility, sensory stimulation, emotions, sensuality, optimism, joy, warmth, vitality and creativity). Symbol of generosity, abundance and freedom, the banana tree is a generous and benevolent fruit. The vine is the symbol of immortality, it is also the symbol of man who grows in clusters as in a family. A still life is also called "still life" or "kitchen corners": an allusion to life and movement that emerges from things, even inanimate ones. Frame dimensions: 49 X 36 cm. Gilbert deguingand (1891-1918) is a famous aviator of the First World War, but also a painter with hst, war watercolors, genre scenes, portraits etc. This artist is referenced on artprice, one of his works is for sale on an online site at 1100 euros. His works remain rare.
