Luterma was the trademark of an estonian company, a.m. Luther, based in tallinn (the capital of estonia), specializing in the creation and manufacture of wooden furniture. From 1877 to 1940, it played a prominent role in its sector of activity, first in estonia for a rapidly developing domestic market and then exporting a lot abroad, to meet a rapidly growing demand. She was one of the pioneers in the manufacture and use of "plywood" for furniture, and at the same time, at other firms, notably american and german, such as thonet. In 1940, when estonia was occupied by the ussr, the firm a.m. Luther closed its doors and thus, ended the adventure of a company that participated in one of the most creative movements of the interwar period.
