Romanian rug

Very old authentic romanian carpet, beginning of the last century, handmade in wool. Elegant red background with beautiful flowers, very delicate. This is a very rare find, very old but in good condition. This type of fabric is called cerga in southern romania and it has been used for many purposes, convenient when it is simple red and also decorative, when it has been decorated with flowers and used as a bed cover, wall tapestry or belatedly as a carpet. It was very popular in 1900-1945, after that rarely made and used as more elaborate models where did. This one is in perfect condition which is very rare, considering when it was made. This carpet is located in the south of romania, it was made at the beginning of the last century in wool, with flowers of delicare. Very old and rare to find in good condition. In the south of romania, years ago, every mom handmade for her beautiful carpet and carpet girls as a point for their weddings.
