Here are six magnificent soup bowls, which could also be used to serve fruit salad, ice cream, or even repurposed as appetizers. They are made of Puisaye stoneware with a wonderful glaze blending soft and comforting tones: beige, caramel, and chocolate—a material and color scheme typical of the 1970s. A truly beautiful piece of craftsmanship by the potter Jean-Pierre Prud'homme. Some are signed JP, while others bear only the number 2 (which corresponds to the bowl's size; size 1 is slightly smaller). Jean-Pierre Prud'homme did not sign all his pieces when they were part of a set. The glazing on these bowls is even more beautiful and refined than that of other bowls of the same shape by this ceramist, so I think they are slightly later than some others, perhaps from the late 1970s. Jean-Pierre Prud'homme and his wife founded a pottery workshop in Monnaie in 1971, working with clay from the Nièvre region (Puisaye stoneware). This workshop still exists today, run by his son Benoît, who took over in the 1990s and 2000s and also creates very beautiful ceramics. These bowls are in perfect condition, with no flaws to report, not even a chip! They measure 15 cm wide including the handles, 11 cm in diameter at the opening, and 9 cm high.
