This apothecary jar is a real treasure for a cabinet of curiosities, with its handwriting intact on the bottle. It still contains a small amount of natural coal. Belloc's coal, which was officially discovered in 1849 and invented by dr. Camille belloc. Source: the pharmacy historical society and its benefactors: 1929.
