"Rodeio" Mid Century Modern armchair and ottoman by Jean Gillon

In this advertisement, you will find an astonishing "Rodeio" Mid Century Modern armchair and ottoman, designed by Jean Gillon for Italma. They feature a black lacquered wood structure with green leather cushions supported by woven leather straps. "Rodeio" is a remarkable example of mid-century Brazilian modernism. The seat and back cushions are supported by a characteristic system of wide visible leather straps woven through the wooden structure. It showcases oversized, plush leather cushions, often with button tufting details. While typically seen in shades of brown or black, this specific model is covered in dark green calf leather following restoration in our workshop. Made in Brazil in the 1960s. As mentioned, the armchair has been renovated in our workshop, where it was refinished and reupholstered in green leather.
