High stool in a brutalist style made of solid wood with a straw seat.
We offer you this charming high stool (or bar chair) from the Mid-Century period, perfectly fitting within the modernist and brutalist design movement of the 1950s, in the spirit of the works of Charlotte Perriand (Bauche model) or Charles Dudouyt. Remarkably robust, this piece is entirely made of very dense solid wood, giving it a weight of over 5 kg despite its compact and elegant proportions. Its great uniqueness lies in its design: the seat is not woven directly onto the structure, but on a fully removable straw frame that fits onto the corner gussets of the joinery. • Manufacturing period: Circa 1950. • Origin: France (beautifully crafted artisanal work). Condition: Magnificent state of preservation. The straw weaving remains very firm, complete, and regular. The wood shows a superb patina of use, healthy and raw, ready to be waxed or left as is according to your preferences. A strong and authentic seating piece to add character to a counter or contemporary interior.
