A distinctive set of five Italian dining chairs dating from the 1990s, combining a light-toned wooden frame with cognac leather and sculptural metal detailing. The design is defined by its slender, subtly curved wooden legs, which broaden towards the floor, giving the chairs an unusual and elegant stance. Beneath the seat, specially shaped metal brackets form an expressive structural element and contrast with the warmth of the wood and leather. Both seat and backrest are upholstered in beautifully aged cognac leather. Rather than simply covering the surfaces, the leather is carefully shaped around the construction, folding over the corners of the seat and wrapping around the ends of the backrest. Visible stitching further emphasizes the craftsmanship of the upholstery. The leather has developed a rich natural patina with variations in colour, creasing and traces of use, adding considerable character to the set. An intriguing example of late 20th-century Italian furniture design, balancing traditional leatherwork with a refined and almost technical construction. Dimensions: Depth X Height X Length: 48 X 77 X 49 cm. Seat height: 45 cm. Good vintage condition with visible patina, scratches, marks and wear to the original leather consistent with age and use.
