Midcentury Chinoiserie bamboo rattan woven chest or trunk

Here we have a medium large ( 52 cm by 37 by 31 ) midcentury chinoiserie woven bamboo chest. The chest is set off with gold decorated black lacquered trim. We think the string is a later add on as it does look home made but it very handy. Some of the resin is shown at the rims but this does not effect the overall look and feel of the chest. As the trunk is made of woven bamboo it is remarkably light!!.
