Pair of Berga armchairs designed by David Rosén for Nordiska Kompaniet in 1944. This model is a later variation of the original Berga model, designed in 1938. Drawing by the artist available on request. Both armchairs are made of solid pine. Overall good condition. Dimensions: Height: 76 cm / Width: 72 cm / Seat depth: 48 cm / Total depth: 70 cm / Seat height: 40 cm. About the designer: David Rosén was a Swedish furniture designer, active mainly in the mid-20th century, who helped shape the aesthetic of modern Scandinavian design. He was trained at Konstfack, the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, and shortly after graduating began a long career at Nordiska Kompaniet (NK), the prestigious Swedish department store and publisher, where he worked for decades and became one of their major designers.
