Wedding wardrobe, Provençal in solid walnut

Magnificent wedding wardrobe, Provençal, typical of the Nîmes region, from the second half of the 18th century, made of solid walnut with a luminous patina and exceptionally high-quality wood. Cornice in the shape of a gendarme's hat. Central medallion at the top of the crosspiece representing a flower basket with ribbons. The central pilaster features a very refined motif of an antique vase from which a climbing flower stem emerges. The base crosspiece, typically Nîmois, is richly carved, with the central motif representing a wheat ear inserted into a laurel crown, a traditional symbol of abundance, fertility, and prosperity for the newlyweds. Stylised olive branches run along the plinth. Snail feet mounted on two small hooves. Interior lock in applied wrought iron, attesting to the authenticity of the Louis XV period. The exterior fittings in polished iron run the full height of the doors.
