Vase made by Les Argonautes, a duo of French ceramicists formed by Isabelle Ferlay and Frédérique Bourguet, active in the 1960s in Vallauris, an emblematic centre of modern ceramics. This vase is inspired by the shape of an ocean liner and is made from glazed chamotte clay. The decoration, rich and original, combines stylised elements such as sails, figures, and abstract patterns, inviting daydreaming and personal interpretation. The colour palette, composed of browns, greens, and ochres, enhances the organic aspect of the work. There is a flaw on one side. Signed and marked in relief under the base "Les Argonautes, Vallauris." Vallauris, circa 1960.
