Large prestige currency from Africa – Solid bronze – West Africa – Early 20th century. Superb traditional trade ring, made of solid bronze using the lost wax technique. Beautiful natural green-grey patina, textured surface with irregularities typical of an old casting. A piece of exchange and dowry, symbolising wealth in Yoruba, Bamum, or Tikar cultures. Mounted on a contemporary black metal base, this currency becomes a strong decorative sculpture, perfect for a wabi-sabi interior or a collection of primitive art.
