Pair of "Barwa" lounge chairs by John Waldheim and Edgar Bartolucci 1950

Pair of "Barwa" lounge chairs by American designers John Waldheim and Edgar Bartolucci. 1950s. H: 100 W: 50 D: 165 cm. Made of black lacquered tubular metal and orange and green deckchair canvas. Its base is designed to allow two possible positions when lying down (see side views). The seats have been reupholstered as they were originally with a very durable deckchair canvas (Latim). I have one of the original orange/brick-colored canvases. The metal frame was left as it is because it is beautiful like that.
