Handwoven Chinese Area Rug 182x270cm

This beautifully handwoven area rug was constructed in the 1890s in china with fine, hand-spun wool. The design is symmetrical and features unique medallions and motifs on a rich red field in the centre, this is then enclosed by a border which frames the design with blue and cream colourways woven in a repeat pattern. Woven with fine hand-spun wool which has been woven with traditional hand-knotting techniques which have been used for generations. The vivid colours come from natural dyeing techniques used because of their vivid colour production. This piece is sure to make the perfect accent piece in both traditional and modern home staples.
