Very elegant Restoration armchair from the 19th century in solid wood, coming from the collections of French furniture. Officially sold by the Prefecture of Ile de France, it was stored in reserves without a precise identification of its origin, despite the superb serial number engraved underneath: 101 342. The state always relied on renowned cabinetmakers for its furniture (notably those who had won awards at national exhibitions), and although it is not duly stamped, this armchair is of high quality. The solid wood offers a very intense patina that further enhances the combined impression of strength and delicacy brought by its thick curved uprights. No piece here is straight; from the uprights to the backrest and the rear legs, known as saber legs, everything is curved. A beautiful feat for an impeccable result. The seat was redone a long time ago and is in leather or faux leather. No defects to report at this level. Moreover, apart from the signs of wear inherent to these pieces of furniture, it is in excellent condition: stable, solid, and very clean. A superb piece with an impressive presence: the tranquil strength embodied in an armchair. I am selling several other armchairs of the same kind and origin (ads to follow), including one stamped OM. L: 59 cm. D: 56 cm. H: 81 cm. Seat height: 47 cm. The price is firm, thank you. Delivered in IDF to your doorstep for 40 euros.
