The spirit of the piece: Superb minister's desk from the 1950s, combining the robustness of mid-century furniture with a richly crafted classic aesthetic. This model is a prestigious "reinterpretation" of ceremonial desks, offering all the charm of the old with the quality of craftsmanship from the 50s. The details that make the difference: Double-Sided Design: Fully sculpted on all sides (panels with diamond patterns and scrolls), it is designed to be placed in the centre of a room rather than against a wall. Generous Storage: It features six deep drawers with integrated sculpted wooden handles, as well as two side pull-outs to expand the workspace. Characterful Top: The surface showcases a beautiful checkerboard marquetry work, bordered by a sculpted "gadroons" frieze. Imposing Structure: Solid pedestal base and turned columns at the corners, typical of the neo-classical style popular in bourgeois interiors of the time. Condition: Beautiful vintage condition. The desk has been cleaned and refreshed in the workshop. It shows a warm patina and a few minor signs of use that testify to its history without detracting from its elegance.
