This iconic creation of the revival of the Daum crystal factory in the 1980s combines polychrome glass paste and clear blown crystal in perfect harmony. The base, shaped using the lost wax technique, evokes a vegetal movement where leaves, stems, and a small stylised beetle intertwine. The clear crystal corolla rises in a flared shape, playing with light and transparency. Each piece is unique in its shades and satin texture, typical of Daum's glass paste work. A refined and sought-after piece, emblematic of the Nature series which also includes bowls, flutes, and candlesticks, all reflecting the same organic theme. 🧠 Historical context. The "Nature" collection (1988) is part of the first neo-Art Nouveau ranges reissued by Daum in the 1980s, following the revival of the glass paste process. It reinterprets the organic themes of the Nancy school (leaves, insects, fluidity of glass), but with a pastel palette typical of the 80s-90s.
