Brushed aluminium round table by Pierre Vandel, 1946

Rare dining table by Pierre Vandel in brushed aluminium and tinted glass top. This table is part of the works created by Pierre Vandel at the very beginning of his career as a designer and is usually dated to 1972, a period during which he developed tables, lamps, and chairs in aluminium, including the famous Vertèbre chair, which were produced in limited editions. It was only after his collaboration with Marais that Vandel's production became prolific and thus less desirable. The base is of great simplicity, consisting of a main stem to which "propellers" are attached, secured by screws. The whole is made of brushed aluminium, a very innovative material in the early 1970s. In very good condition, with slight signs of use on the aluminium and the tinted glass top, which is original.
