Vintage ceramic elephant

Superb cream-white glazed ceramic elephant, finely carved, in the style of Asian-inspired garden elephants. It is adorned with a rich decoration: a back rug embellished with openwork patterns and a medallion, Greek fringe, pom-poms, a bonnet, and a large floral collar on its forehead. Its back features a square tray decorated with openwork scrolls, which can hold a plant, a bouquet, or a lamp, or serve as a side table or decorative stool. Glossy glaze with natural crackles and ochre highlights in the engravings, for a very decorative patinated charm. A striking piece that adds character to an entrance, a living room, a conservatory, or a sheltered terrace. In good condition, restoration under the base, see photo.
