Natural History plate number 8, Conchyliology, signed in the plate, XVIIIth

Reproduction on panel of an antique engraving signed in the board, inspired by an original of the eighteenth century, enhanced with watercolor. Different species of marine gastropods are represented including the marine conch (strombo). The board is offered in a gilded wooden frame inspired by Louis xvi, under anti uv treated glass. The frame is 58 cm high and 41 cm wide. The engraving is in an excellent state of conservation. The frame shows traces of age-related wear. View detail photos.
