Walnut, Metal and Leather Hans von Klier “Il Ponte” Desk for Skipper, 1970s

A monumental Il Ponte executive desk in very good condition. Designed by Hans von Klier for Skipper, dating from the 1970s and representing the refined, architectural character of Italian executive furniture of the period. The substantial desk features a beautifully figured walnut veneer top, complemented by a genuine black leather writing inlay. Along the desk, carefully integrated polished aluminium details provide a striking contrast to the warmth of the wood, while the distinctive T-shaped supports reinforce its architectural character. The desk incorporates three drawers, with carefully integrated wooden detailing and handles, retaining a remarkably architectural appearance despite its substantial size. A particularly elegant feature is the channel running alongside the leather writing surface, designed to hold the original containers for assorted desk necessities.
