Antique Anglo-Japanese magazine rack in faux bamboo tortoiseshell from the late 19th century. This distinctive magazine rack was made from rare tortoiseshell bamboo at the end of the 19th century. It features a simple and elegant construction with outward-facing legs. It has a transparent design and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. On both sides, there is a black panel with a hand-painted floral landscape that highlights the Japanese inspiration. This very elegant and slightly exotic magazine rack exudes irresistible charm thanks to its design and choice of material. The tortoiseshell or tiger bamboo used has a beautiful colour and a speckled appearance, a rare material primarily used in quality English furniture from the late 19th century. This original piece is a lovely addition to your interior. It is in good vintage condition, well-aged.
