Vintage 1960s Czech Double Pendant Light with Black & White Opaline Glass

A wonderfully playful Czechoslovak ceiling light from the 1960s, combining two unusual black-and-white glass shades with warm wood and a delicate metal suspension. The two white opaline glass shades are scattered with irregular black glass spots, giving the lamp an almost graphic, polka-dot appearance. Their softly sculpted organic shape contrasts beautifully with the simple wooden bar and geometric metal structure above. It is a particularly charming example of the optimistic and experimental design language that appeared in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s, when traditional glassmaking was being combined with increasingly modern and playful forms. The light works beautifully above a dining table, kitchen island or in a living space, where its long horizontal proportions can become a strong feature without feeling visually heavy. The designer and manufacturer are unknown. Carefully cleaned, checked and prepared for use in our Brno workshop. Very good vintage condition with light signs of age to the original wooden and metal elements. Made in Czechoslovakia, circa 1960s.
